The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Spanish: Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales) (FLACSO) is a regional intergovernmental academic organization created in 1957 by UNESCO, presently headquartered in Costa Rica and with campuses in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguya and Uruaguy.  Its goal is to promote academic research and development in the region in the area of social science.
