The Data to Policy Network is a global community of policymakers from diverse sectors dedicated to harnessing emerging data sources for evidence-based policymaking in pursuit of the SDGs. It serves as a vibrant virtual hub where policymakers convene to share knowledge, cultivate learning opportunities, and foster collaboration, including South-South and triangular cooperation.
Launch of Data to Policy Network
To mark the launch of the Data to Policy Network, on 18 September 2023 the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation convened a panel discussion titled, ‘Data-Informed Policymaking: A Catalyst for the SDGs’. During the event, high-level panelists discussed how the integration of new data sources and data-driven decision policymaking by governments and in collaboration with the private sector and the UN system can be a catalyst to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including through South-South and Triangular cooperation.
