About
ThIOFS is a specialized institution of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), dedicated to ensure food security, agricultural and rural development in Member States. Initiated by the Republic of Kazakhstan in June 2011. In December 2013, 19 OIC Member States signed the IOFS Statute. At present, IOFS is comprised of 41 Member States and 1 observer country out of 57 OIC Member States, 17 of which ratified the Statute. The Secretariat of the Islamic Organization for Food Security is located in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan.
