Description
The Regional Archive began its activities on April 1, 1975, as a Departmental Archive under Law 19414 and its Regulation D.S. 022-75 ED, adapting its operation to the Law of the National Archives System No. 25323 and its Regulation D.S. 008-92 JUS.
Its purpose is the defense, conservation, increase, and service of the Documentary Heritage of the Nation existing in the region.
It depends technically and normatively on the General Archive of the Nation, administratively and budgetarily on the Regional Government of Tacna.
Vision:
The Regional Archive of Tacna, a model institution and leader of the Regional Archives System, is characterized by its quality, technology, and highly qualified personnel in an efficient organization, put at the service of society as a source of information and research in support of education and culture.
Mission:
Conduct and control the development of the National Archives System in its jurisdiction, ensuring the conservation of the Documentary Heritage of the Nation, based on archival techniques, as well as modernization and specialized training, to optimize services to citizens in general.
