Centro de Análisis y Difusión de la Economía Paraguaya (CADEP) is a nongovernmental organization dedicated to research and training in economic development. CADEP’s main research areas are fiscal studies, competitiveness, trade policy, and employment issues.CADEP was established at the beginning of Paraguay’s transition to democracy, following one of the longest dictatorships in Latin America, It was formed to help understand the national economy and the role of the state, and to produce knowledge to form a basis for developing public policies that would achieve sustainable growth and improve the well-being and of the people of Paraguay. Through its research, education, training and publications, CADEP has become an important resource for government and the private sector, as well as for universities and civil society organizations. It has also formed strong international and regional networks with academic organizations, foundations and donor agencies.
