The capital of Madagascar, the modern city of Antananarivo is an agglomeration of 88 square kilometers, populated by nearly 2 million inhabitants, making it the largest metropolis of the Indian Ocean islands.
The Urban Municipality of Antananarivo’s WASH Department aims to promote access to water, to raise awareness on sanitation and to improve hygiene. Previously known as the Municipal Office of Hygiene, it aims to secure a safe environment for the population for a good public health.
