IsDB and Morocco Unite to Strengthen Vocational Education and South-South Cooperation

On the final day of his official visit in the Kingdom of Morocco, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, held a bilateral discussion with Mrs. Loubna Atrica, the country’s Director General of the Office for Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT).

Following the discussion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed  between IsDB and OFPPT to strengthen vocational education for the benefit of IsDB member countries. Mrs Loubna signed on behalf of OFPPT, while IsDB was represented by the head of IsDB  Regional Hub in Rabat.

The signing aims to enhance ongoing cooperation between IsDB and Morocco, emphasizing human development and South-South Cooperation to benefit other IsDB member countries in Africa.

During the meeting, IsDB President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser praised the Office for its significant role in developing vocational training in Morocco. He commended the Office’s facilitation of IsDB’s work program in Sub-Saharan member countries.

The Office for Vocational Training and Labor Promotion in Morocco has actively contributed to IsDB-financed projects in Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. Their experts have played a crucial role in completing diagnostic tasks and feasibility studies, particularly in the fields of construction, equipment, and management of vocational training institutions.

The City of Professions and Competencies in Tamesna is located 25 kilometers southwest of Rabat. The city serves as a hub for vocational training and professional human development, contributing significantly to national economic development and fostering a new generation of national and African competencies.
