The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is organizing the Third Africa High-Level Forum on South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development, which will take place from May 7-9, 2025, at the International Convention Centre in Free Town, Sierra Leone.
Under the theme “The Role of the Global South in Reshaping the New International Order,” this year’s forum comes at a critical time of global and continental transformation. The event will bring together policymakers, ministers, senior experts, youth representatives, and NGOs to assess the state of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Africa.
Key Objectives
The forum aims to address several pivotal issues:
- Exploring the significance of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in promoting the second ten-year implementation plan of Agenda 2063
- Assessing the transformation of the global financial architecture and its impact on Africa’s progress
- Evaluating the implementation of the BAPA+40 outcome document in Africa
- Building national ecosystems for South-South and Triangular Cooperation
- Strengthening partnerships with Global South countries to address governance challenges
- Providing a platform for youth and young women to share initiatives on SDGs and Agenda 2063

- South-South and Triangular Cooperation for sustainable and resilient societies in Africa
- BRICS+ impact on Africa’s potential as a global player
- Building ecosystems for countries in the Global South

Agenda 2063 Youth Exhibition
The forum will feature a special exhibition providing a continental platform for African youth to showcase local initiatives that advance both Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event is organized in collaboration with numerous strategic partners, including the AU Commission, Islamic Development Bank, World Food Program, Saudi Fund for Development, UNDP, and various regional economic communities.
