About

Youth4South is an Advanced Youth Leadership Programme launched by the UNOSSC in partnership with the Office of the Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth, the China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (CISSCA), the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation (FC-SSC), IFAD, NOREC-Norway, UNFPA and the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment. Youth4South is designed as an umbrella facility dedicated to supporting South-South and triangular cooperation initiatives, projects and activities in promoting youth leadership and capacity development for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Objectives

  • Support the exchange of knowledge mutual learning among young people globally.
  • Provide capacity development opportunities for youth to learn, adapt and apply South-South and triangular cooperation tools and methods in scaling up sustainable development solutions and projects in their home community, institution, and country contexts.
  • Provide accesses to expertise, mentorships, resources, and networks.
  • Promote dialogue between youth and development stakeholders and increase youth participation in global dialogue

Capacity Development

The Capacity Development Training Pillar aims to support capacity development of young government officials and technical experts from developing countries government entities, Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and international organizations in learning and utilizing South-South and triangular cooperation tools, methodologies and resources in advancing sustainable development.

Fellowship & Scholarship

Academic Fellowship and Scholarship Pillar offers funded fellowship and scholarship opportunities to qualified young professionals and scholars to undertake research projects, pursue postgraduate degrees, and participate in short-term exchange and training courses in areas relevant to South-South and triangular cooperation at selected prestigious universities and research and technical institutes.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship PillarYouth Entrepreneurship for the South (YES) programme will provide OneStop-Shop support to emerging and established youth entrepreneurs from developing countries with to provide access to entrepreneurship and skills development trainings, technologies, incubation and seed funding support. It aims to foster the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in developing countries.
