Momentos Adelante: The Potential of Triangular Cooperation for Civil Society Organization and Local Authorities, 14 July 2023

At the end of 2021, the Momentos ADELANTE was launched as a series of events planned throughout the duration of the ADELANTE 2 Programme, with the aim of ‘sharing reflections on Triangular Cooperation’, open to Triangular Cooperation partners and all actors committed to development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The first Momento ADELANTE, in collaboration with the Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean Partners of the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), focused on the potential of Triangular Cooperation to contribute in an innovative and effective way to the challenges of recovering from the post-pandemic crisis.

The second Momento ADELANTE, led together with the Ibero-American General Secretariat – SEGIB, encouraged reflection on the strategic potential that Triangular Cooperation could have for the countries of the European Union in the framework of their International Development Cooperation policies and strategies.

This next Momento ADELANTE, jointly organized with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation – AECID, aims to reflect on the potential that Triangular Cooperation could have for civil society organizations and local authorities as key development actors. This third Momento ADELANTE is a side event of the ‘EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Forum: Partners for Change. Youth, civil society and local authorities’, organized within the framework of ‘EU-LAC days’ as a lead-up to the EU-CELAC Summit, to be held from 17-18 Jul;y. The Forum aims to be a space where non-state actors can exchange views and experiences in an inclusive environment, as well as discuss opportunities to forge a sustainable and inclusive future for both regions. The outcome of this dialogue is expected to result both in the p reparation of a set of recommendations for the Summit and in closer cooperation between non-state actors and youth organizations in both regions going forward.

This will be a face-to-face event, to take place on the sidelines of the EU-Latin America and Caribbean Forum. Maritime Room at the Maison de la Poste, Tour&Taxis, Brussels. A live webcast with simultaneous interpretation into English, French and Portuguese is foreseen. Registration is essential in order to follow the live broadcast.
