The International Labour Organization (ILO) has long been a champion of South-South and triangular cooperation, engaging with partners to promote horizontal exchanges around the world. Between 2021 and 2021, through its partnerships department, has launched 23 South-South and triangular cooperation projects, covering 75 countries across five regions, and the ITC-Turin office, and additional global activities.
ILO’s SSTC projects have touched on a wide range of topics, including employment services, women economic empowerment, employment policies, skills, informality, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), labour migration, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), sustainable tourism, and Disaster Risk Reduction. All projects were associated with policy outcomes, in accordance with the ILO Strategic Framework 2020-2021, and have been adapted to the current COVID-19 crisis in both format and content.
This report gives an overview of the ILO’s SSTC work, and allows readers to understand the priorities and the development knowledge being created and shared by the organization and its partners.
