Angela has worked in the fields of environmental management and international development for over 20 years and has expertise in capacity development, policy analysis and advocacy, strategy development, programme coordination, and partnership building and management. As a Programme Management Officer in the South-South Cooperation Unit of the Policy and Programme Division at UN Environment Programme, she is responsible for strengthening and monitoring South-South Cooperation within the organization towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. She previously worked as the Coordinator of WWF’s Environmental Hazards Programme from 2005 to 2013. She led the implementation of activities related to the management of pollution, chemicals, and waste in Africa and was responsible for designing, developing and implementing capacity building, communication and policy advocacy initiatives related to this programme. She has experience in supporting governments in reviewing and developing policies, plans and legislation to better meet their international commitments and improve national processes and structures. She also has experience in partnering with the private sector and civil society organizations in innovative and non-traditional initiatives for mutual benefit.
