Description

The Dawn of Future (DoF) Nature Based Education for Endangered Species Conservation (NBEESC) Programme (take sea turtles at Kosgoda, Sri Lanka as example) is a sustainable development theory learning under the frameworks of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science (Ocean Decade), also as the part of China ’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on Article 6 series, and participating in the contribution to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)’s Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) combining with the approach of training and civil society mobilization on spreading relevant knowledge to enhance awareness to lead mingingful and practical participation for saving the endangered species - sea turtles (UN SDG-14: life below water & UN Ocean Decade Mission 2: a healthy and resilient ocean) in Kosgoda, Sri Lanka as a experimentation start of example which will be extended gradually to more regions (international/global/South-South) on more species that will be died out in the future, using Sea Beyond ocean literacy educational modules as basic teaching materials (UN Ocean Decade Mission 7: an inspiring and engaging ocean), related to natural education (UN SDG-13: climate action & UN SDG-4: quality education) on how climate change negatively effecting endangered species such as sea turtles’ survival (UN Ocean Decade Challenge 2: Protect and restore ecosystems and biodiversity & Challenge 5: Unlock ocean-based solutions to climate change) through non-profit economic mode (UN SDG-8: decent jobs and economic growth & UN Ocean Decade Challenge 4: develop a sustainable, resilient and equitable ocean economy) to create more opportunities for individuals from civil society engaging in global governance (UN Ocean Decade Challenge 10: restore society’s relationship with the ocean & Mission 4: a predicted ocean) of green (climate) and blue (ocean conservation) jobs for empowering domestic & international children & youth who loss hope of life for future in mind (UN SDG-10: reduce inequality & UN Ocean Decade Challenge 3: sustainably nourish the global population), especially women and girls who are vulnerable groups at the societies (UN SDG-5: gender equality & UN Ocean Decade Challenge 9: skills, knowledge, technology and participation for all), jointly making positive impact simultaneously on social inclusion, environmental protection and economic growth (the 3 pillars of UN SDGs), which is implementing the UN spirit of leaving no one behind and to construct the Shared Future initiative initiated by China to build the world we want as well.
