China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS)

About

The China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS) was launched by the Ministry of Commerce and approved by the State Council in 2007, under the background of China’s overall strategy in optimizing the structure of its international trade industry and focusing on developing trade in services. There are over 500 membership enterprises under CATIS, including COSCO, CICC, China Post, SINO Sure, IBM and Maersk. 

The missions of CATIS cover the following aspects:  

  • To promote international cooperation and communication facilitating the involvement and dominance of Chinese enterprises under the support of international organizations such as UNCTAD, WTO and WCO;  
  • To cultivate talents-training program on new technology, new business model, emerging industry etc,to realize the industrialization of digital technology and the digitization of traditional industries;  
  • To organize national-level conferences and activities such as CIFTIS and CIIE, and to cultivate and promote national conference brands;  
  • To launch key projects cooperation and construction of industry bases with local government authorities serving for the high-quality development of regional economy.
