Call for Mentors
ITU and UNOSSC are calling for mentors to support the winners of the Global South COVID-19 Digital Innovation Challenge and develop a Global South digital innovation mentor network. Experts are sought in the following areas:
- Business development:
- has expertise and experience in business development, making a planned and coordinated approach
- responsible for keeping track of the mentees’ progress and milestones
- understands the resources and knowledge the mentee requires to scale
- Soft landing: has expertise and experience in
-
- accessing new markets specific to the Global South
- identifying partners and resources
- Policy: has expertise and experience in policy in the Global South
- Funding: has expertise and experience in accessing funding, especially in the Global South
- Technology: has expertise and experience in a variety of technologies
- South-South cooperation: has expertise and experience in relevant SSC modalities, principles and standards
The ITU Innovation Challenges Mentorship Programme is open to policy-makers, financiers, start-up accelerator/incubator programme managers, recognized ICT experts and former ITU Innovation Challenges winners.
Mentor will receive:
- ITU and UNOSSC mentor certification upon completion of the training programme
- training provided during a four-hour (half-day) boot camp hosted by ITU and UNOSSC
- the opportunity to network with other mentors
- access to online digital innovation ecosystem courses and other specialized workshops and co-creation sessions
- participation in ITU digital innovation ecosystem flagship events and project
All mentors are expected to commit up to 10 hours of their time over a period of six months, in addition to the four-hour training boot camp, to provide support to the winners of the Global-South Challenge.
